Items sold a la carte {snacks} are intended to
supplement meals from the school and/or from home, not to compete with the
reimbursable meal.

Lunch Information:
All schools offer several nutritionally balanced
meals every day. The meals are planned by a registered dietitian to ensure that
the nutrient standards set by the {USDA} federal guidelines are met.
Lunch must meet one-third of the recommended Dietary
Allowances for protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, calcium, and calories.

Lunch prices have increased for the 2008-2009 school year. The new lunch
prices are $1.70 for elementary schools and $1.80 for secondary schools. For
those that qualify for Reduced Lunch, the cost remains the same at $.40.
