M.Y.P. Learning Profiles

Q.   What kind of young adult will a teen become by studying in the MYP?

A.  Since attitude plays a major role in the MYP learning experience, students thoughtfully reflect on the kind of person they want to become.  At least 10 key personality traits build this mental picture.

Here are 10  MYP Learner Profile students traits.

  1. As “inquirers,” they become lifelong, learners about their world.

  2. As “knowledgeable” young adults, they use their knowledge to understand the how and why of local and global markets.

  3. As “thinkers,” they probe beneath the surface of issues to gain a true understanding.

  4. As “communicators,” they share their knowledge and skills with others to ensure successful collaboration.

  5. As “principled” young adults, they develop the ability to evaluate actions and govern themselves with ethics and integrity as they treat others with dignity.

  6. As "open-minded" young adults, they know the value of listening to the ideas of others and recognizing the value of difference.

  7. As "caring" young adults, they know that one individual can spark a change to make another person's life better.

  8. As "risk-takers," they will have the courage and conviction required for exploring new ideas as well as for standing firm on their beliefs.

  9. As "balanced" young adults, they know that making the right choices brings them closer to their goals and gives them time to enjoy their life.

  10. As "reflective" young adults, they will think before they speak and act, question their decisions as they participate in life, and consider the consequences of their choices.
